The Boogy man is a shape shifter!

My horse is very smart, she taught me that the boogy man is not stationary, he,she,it is a shape shifter.

Here we have the dreaded "cat boogy", they lay in wait for a poor unsuspecting horse to come along, and then pounce!!! hissing and clawing, surely to eat the liver out of those who are unsuspecting!!

In this case, the boogy man is disguised as a storm pipe, and if you are not careful, you can be sucked in and drug under the swirling waters.

Here we have the "boogy" combo, if you notice the dreaded "cat boogy" is sitting atop the horrible "logging equipment" boogy, ready to eat the unsuspecting horse and rider.

This is the worst "boogy" insult of all, they sneak in to eat al of your nice green grass, grrrrrrr.

Feeding the chickens

Buffy came from the race track, and has some bad memories.  She does not like to be handled from the off side, but we work on that every day, plastic bags are very scary as well.  But, I love the spirit of the race horse, bred to be competetive.  The heart of a race horse is pure, while at the track they know only one thing, and it is sometimes difficult to make the transition to a normal and loving home.  Buffy is doing well, and for all of her ideosyncracies she is rock solid in alot of other areas.  Buffy loves chickens, they can run all around her feet, flap under her belly.  Alot of horses would not tolerate this, but she loves them.  I suspect that the grooms in her stable may have had chickens.

full circle

Buffy and I have been able to get in some quality rides in between rain storms.  As always, I have lots of time to think while riding along. I thought about what the very name Endurance means to me.  It is part enduring hard ships, and part dancing with your equine partner.  I always strive to be a good partner, and not step on Buffy's toes.  Buffy and I will have been together for one year, and have come along way.  She has been able to put on quite a bit of weight which means that we will be able to do longer distances and mulitdays.

We are getting ready for MRRT, so I thought it would be a good idea to play dress up, and test our new easy boot gloves.  They stayed on, so I must be doing something right!and Buffy seems to enjoy not having nails driven into her hooves.
